Mountain Club of South Africa

The Group has had a relationship with the Mountain Club of South Africa (MCSA) since the formation in 1989. Members of the MCSA have attended board meetings of the Group.

Wilderness Leadership School
There is an informal relationship between the Group and the School since its inception. All former Directors of the School have attended board meetings.

Wilderness Foundation (SA)
The Group and the Foundation have a formal agreement in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding. The Group acts as a Technical Advisor to the Foundation. Both respective organisations have worked on projects such advocacy, developing memorandum and responses on environmental legislation in South Africa.

The WILD Foundation (WILD)
The Group has worked closely with WILD on several projects and assisted at many of the World Wilderness Congresses. The most important of these has been to plan and present an International Wilderness Concepts and Practice course before the 7 th World Wilderness Congress.

Centre for Environment, Agriculture and Development (CEAD)
The Group values its involvement with the Centre for Environment and Development (CEAD) and has played a leading role in the development of one of its course-work Masters programme, Protected Area Management (PAM). A number of directors and members have been active in presentations to the PAM students. The Group and CEAD have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and meet regular to discuss matters of common interest.

Zambezi Society
The Group has been working with the Society in the training of park management staff and community members in wilderness management. The Society and the Group are soon to formalise this working relationship by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
